- ■There were 602 bankruptcies (down 12.4% year-on-year), marking the second consecutive month of year-on-year decrease.
- ■Liabilities totaled 67,996 million yen (down 35.8% year-on-year), marking the second consecutive month of year-on-year decrease. Since 2000, as a year that can be compared, this was the second-lowest level ever after that seen in February 2020.
- ■The largest amount of liabilities was posted by SHOWA-AUTO CORPORATION (Osaka, bankruptcy) with liabilities of approximately 3,903 million yen.
- ■By industry, the number of bankruptcies decreased year-on-year in six of seven industries. Among them, in the manufacturing industry (69 bankruptcies, down 15.9% year-on-year), the decrease in bankruptcies of companies involved in manufacturing textile products or steel and metal products was noticeable. The wholesale industry (62 bankruptcies) saw a 36.7% year-on-year decrease due to a double-digit decrease in bankruptcies of companies involved in food and beverage wholesale, as well as machinery and equipment wholesale.
- ■In terms of primary cause, recession-induced bankruptcies numbered 470 (down 17.4% year-on-year), marking the second consecutive month of year-on-year decrease.
- ■In terms of scale, bankruptcies totaling less than 50 million yen numbered 418 (down 2.6% year-on-year) and comprised 69.4% of the total.
- ■By region, six of nine regions experienced year-on-year decreases. Among them, in Tohoku (21 bankruptcies, down 50.0% year-on-year) bankruptcies fell in all six prefectures of the region. In Kinki (162 bankruptcies, down 11.0% year-on-year), bankruptcies decreased year-on-year in six industries except the service industry.
